Aavenir sells AI contract lifecycle management built natively on ServiceNow to procurement, legal, finance and IT. We built the content and search programme that brings those buyers in, and pointed account-based outreach at the same accounts.

About Aavenir

Aavenir is an Accel-backed enterprise SaaS company and a pioneer of AI-powered contract lifecycle management built natively on ServiceNow. Contractflow is its flagship product. The platform also covers sourcing, vendor onboarding, obligation management, compliance screening and accounts payable automation.

It sells into procurement, legal, finance and IT teams across banking, healthcare and life sciences, manufacturing, energy and the public sector, all on the ServiceNow platform its customers already govern.

The problem

Four buying centres and long enterprise cycles

Procurement, legal, finance and IT each evaluate contract software differently. A single message reaches one of them and misses the other three, and enterprise cycles give buyers plenty of time to drift.

A category buyers are still learning to describe

Terms such as obligation management and contract intelligence are still settling. Buyers search in fragments, so a vendor that does not publish for each of those searches is invisible early in the evaluation.

Volume without understanding

Traditional agencies wanted to run standard playbooks, and AI outbound tools promised thousands of emails. Neither understood who Aavenir was selling to or why they would buy.

What we did

01Start with the buyer

We mapped what each buying centre needs to believe and what it searches for before it will take a meeting.

  • Separate questions for procurement, legal, finance and IT
  • Industry context for banking, healthcare, manufacturing, energy and public sector

02Own the category searches

We targeted contract lifecycle management, obligation management, obligation flow and related terms, and published a steady stream of website content against them.

  • Keyword clusters by use case and role
  • Content published to the website continuously, not in bursts

03Optimise for AI answer engines as well as Google

The search strategy covers traditional SEO alongside answer engine and generative engine visibility, so Aavenir shows up when buyers research inside AI assistants.

  • Pages structured to be quoted
  • Consistent entity and product descriptions

04Give buyers something useful before asking for a meeting

Gated assets were built for the category rather than recycled, and a maturity assessment tool gives buyers a useful result before any sales contact.

  • Category-specific gated assets
  • A contract management maturity assessment

05Point outbound at the same accounts

Account-based outreach works the same target list from the other direction, with tiered account lists and multi-touch sequences across email, LinkedIn and content.

  • Tiered account lists
  • Sequencing that connects each touch to the last

Across the funnel

Every stage had a job. Here is what each one did.

00

Funnel build

A working funnel was already in place, so the program started at the stages below.

01

Top of funnel

Search and AI answer engine visibility on contract lifecycle and obligation management topics, backed by continuous website content.

02

Middle of funnel

Category-specific gated assets, a maturity assessment tool and multi-touch ABM sequences.

03

Bottom of funnel

Qualified meetings handed to Aavenir's sales team, from inbound and outbound on the same accounts.

Results. Measured the way the CFO measures them.

Most of the lift came from buyers finding Aavenir on their own.

  • 90 to 95% of results came purely from inbound search and content.
  • Qualified meetings went from single digits a month to tens a month.
  • Inbound and account-based outreach now work the same target accounts.
  • Aavenir is visible for contract lifecycle management and obligation management searches on Google and in AI answer engines.
“What differentiated Lemniscate Growth is that they started with the buyer. On the inbound side, gated assets built for our category, a maturity assessment tool, and a search strategy that covers SEO alongside answer engine and generative engine visibility. On the outbound side, tiered account lists and multi-touch sequencing. We went from single digit qualified meetings in a month to tens of qualified meetings in a month. They operate like an extension of our own team.”

Lessons

What you can take from this. Even if you never hire us.

01

Publish for the vocabulary before the category settles

When buyers are still learning what to call the problem, every variant of the search is an open door. Cover obligation management, obligation flow and the other fragments early and the traffic compounds.

02

Aim inbound and outbound at one account list

Running both motions against the same accounts means outreach lands on people who have already read your content, and inbound leads arrive from accounts sales already prioritised.

03

Give value before you ask for time

A maturity assessment gives a buyer a useful answer on their own terms. It qualifies them for you and makes the later meeting request feel earned.

How do you generate inbound leads for contract lifecycle management software?

Publish for every term buyers use while they learn the category. For Aavenir, Lemniscate Growth targeted contract lifecycle management, obligation management, obligation flow and related searches with continuous website content, added category-specific gated assets and a maturity assessment, and optimised for AI answer engines. 90 to 95% of results came from inbound.

What is the best marketing strategy for a ServiceNow ISV?

Combine category search with account-based marketing on the same target list. Aavenir, which builds contract lifecycle management natively on ServiceNow, used SEO, AEO and GEO content, gated assets and a maturity assessment for inbound, plus tiered ABM sequences across email and LinkedIn. Qualified meetings rose from single digits to tens a month.

Should B2B SaaS companies invest in AEO and GEO as well as SEO?

Yes, if buyers research with AI assistants, and enterprise buyers increasingly do. Answer engine and generative engine optimisation make your pages easy for AI tools to quote. Aavenir's programme with Lemniscate Growth covered SEO, AEO and GEO together, and 90 to 95% of its results came from inbound.

How did Aavenir go from single-digit to tens of qualified meetings a month?

Aavenir, an AI contract lifecycle management platform built natively on ServiceNow, grew qualified meetings from single digits to tens a month mainly by being found. Continuous website content targeted the searches procurement, legal, finance and IT buyers run, and pages were structured for AI answer engines as well as Google. Category-specific gated assets and a maturity assessment gave buyers something useful before any sales contact. Between 90 and 95% of results came from inbound.

Which search topics brought Aavenir its inbound buyers?

Aavenir's inbound buyers came through contract lifecycle management, obligation management, obligation flow and related searches. Because that vocabulary is still settling, buyers of the ServiceNow-native CLM platform search in fragments, so Aavenir published for each variant instead of relying on a single head term. Keyword clusters were organized by use case and role, and content went live continuously. Its visibility for those searches now extends to AI answer engines, not only Google.

How did Aavenir market to procurement, legal, finance and IT at the same time?

Aavenir mapped what each of its four buying centers needs to believe, and what each searches for, before asking any of them for a meeting. A single message for its ServiceNow-native contract lifecycle management platform would reach one group and miss three. So procurement, legal, finance and IT each got their own questions answered, with industry context for banking, healthcare, manufacturing, energy and the public sector. Account-based outreach then worked the same tiered account list from the other direction.

Can Aavenir's inbound-led approach work for a company like mine?

It suits companies whose conditions resemble Aavenir's. The AI contract lifecycle management vendor sells on ServiceNow into several buying centers, in a category whose terms buyers are still learning, with enterprise cycles long enough for content to shape the evaluation. It also committed to publishing continuously and to aiming outbound at the same accounts. If your buyers do not research through search or AI assistants, or you cannot sustain steady publishing, expect a different channel mix.
