India's announced AI data center projects for 2026 cluster around Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Mumbai and Gujarat, led by TCS subsidiary HyperVault's planned campus of up to 1 GW at Bharat Future City and Fortune's hyperscale park at Kandukur. Most are announcements, approvals or early construction, not live capacity. They create pipeline for system integrators, cloud and data partners, cooling and power suppliers, and cybersecurity and SaaS vendors.
Every project below is cited to a company release, a state government order or a reputable outlet, with dates. Figures appear in the currency each source used, and targets are labeled as targets.

Hyderabad: two large announcements in five days
HyperVault said it acquired 264 acres for a campus designed for high-density, liquid-cooled computing for AI developers and hyperscale cloud operators, with about 7,000 direct and indirect jobs expected. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy asked for completion within 21 months, targeting June 2, 2028. HyperVault had earlier secured Rs 18,000 crore from TPG. Five days later, Fortune announced its Kandukur park, and Business Standard reported that Telangana's data center investments this year, including HyperVault, Amazon at Bharat Future City and UPC-Volt, may cumulatively reach around Rs 1.5 trillion.
Mumbai: the incumbent hub keeps expanding
Maharashtra already hosts most of India's capacity, by the state's own account 66 percent. Dhavse also said data centers need two fundamental things, power and water. New campuses keep arriving around the city. L&T Vyoma's Navi Mumbai facility uses direct-to-chip liquid cooling and is built for build-to-suit, enterprise and NeoCloud workloads, and STT GDC India's Palava campus is designed to scale to about 400 MW of IT load for AI and high-density computing.
Read announcements as announcements
MediaNama pointed out that HyperVault's September 5 announcement did not include a signed power purchase agreement, land use and environmental clearances, a named construction or EPC partner, confirmed anchor tenants or a financing breakdown. It also noted that large data center announcements in India have not consistently turned into operational capacity on the projected timelines. For vendors, those gaps are useful: they show which decisions are still open.
Why the buildout matters for B2B demand
Sponsors are describing what they will need
The announcements are unusually specific about infrastructure. Fortune says its park is planned around 2,000 MVA of sanctioned power from TGTRANSCO, a carrier-neutral fiber backbone, treated greywater for cooling, closed-loop cooling for high-density AI computing, and long-term solar and wind power purchase agreements. Its four modules are meant for AI, cloud, colocation and high-performance computing workloads. HyperVault and the Telangana government described renewable energy and water-neutral cooling. Google's original announcement included new transmission lines, clean energy generation, energy storage and a subsea gateway in Visakhapatnam. Each of these is a buying decision with owners, budgets and suppliers.
Hyperscale tenants are expanding in the same corridors
AWS broke ground at Bharat Future City on July 15, 2026 as part of expanding its Hyderabad Region. Fortune says it is developing its park with global data center operators and hyperscalers. Google is building its hub with AdaniConneX and Nxtra by Airtel, and its October 2025 announcement said the hub would help large enterprises and Indian startups build and scale AI-powered solutions.
Enterprises are building AI into core systems
At Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai, NPCI launched two agentic AI platforms on September 10, 2026, Business Standard reported. AiNxt lets organizations build and deploy AI agents with a bring-your-own-model approach. AtOM automates integration, change management, partner onboarding, testing and certification across ecosystems such as UPI, using digitally signed, machine-readable interactions to support compliance and audit. NPCI did not say where these platforms run. They do show banks and payment service providers being asked to work with agentic AI, which means integration, data and security work for their vendors.

1. Map projects and sponsors
Start with the table above and keep it current. Record the operating entity, not just the brand: HyperVault AI Data Center Limited rather than "TCS," Sudeeksha Estates LLP as Fortune's project SPV, AdaniConneX and Nxtra by Airtel as Google's construction partners, and TPG as a HyperVault investor. Note each project's status: announced, approved, groundbreaking or operating.
2. Identify buying committees
One campus holds several committees. The developer decides design, power and cooling. The EPC or construction partner buys packages. The operator runs facilities, security and tenant services. Tenants buy cloud, data, AI and security services for their own workloads. Match your offer to one committee first, and watch for the missing pieces MediaNama listed, such as construction partners and anchor tenants, since each announcement adds a new account.
3. Build account lists
Build three tiers: sponsors and operators, construction and integration partners, and likely tenants, including enterprises in banking, payments and technology that are building AI systems. Then run the top tier as account-based marketing, with content written for each committee.
4. Time outreach to milestones and events
Milestones give a reason to write: state approvals, land allotment, power agreements, construction awards, groundbreakings and tenant announcements. AM AI Factory's government order sets a two years and four months completion window, and HyperVault's target is June 2, 2028, so specification and procurement decisions come well before either date. For events, India Mobile Congress runs October 7 to 10, 2026 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, with agenda pillars that include AI infrastructure economics, edge and cloud, and cybersecurity. 5. Use partner ecosystems
Much of this demand flows through partners. AWS and Google Cloud partners can position in-region migration and AI workloads, and co-marketing funds can pay for the campaigns; see our AWS MDF guide. 6. Lead with proof
Data center buyers are engineers and risk owners. Lead with delivery evidence that matches their decision: a cooling retrofit, a network build, a migration or a security program, with scope and outcome. Keep claims verifiable, and never imply a relationship with a sponsor that does not exist.
