About GATCOIN
GATCOIN built a token economy around retail discounts. Merchants issued deals as tokens, and shoppers could collect, use or trade them, connecting retailers, consumers and a marketplace.
The company raised funds through an initial coin offering, with Lemniscate Growth responsible for the offering from design to marketing.
The problem
Two audiences had to believe the same story
Retailers needed to see that tokenised deals would bring real customers. Token buyers needed to see a genuine merchant network and economics that held together. If either story looked weak, the sale would stall.
A crowded, sceptical ICO market
Many token sales were competing for the same buyers at the same time. A project needed a clear model and a credible document to stand out from the noise.
A fixed window
A token sale has a start and an end. Spend, messaging and community momentum all had to peak inside four weeks.
What we did
01Design the tokenomics
We built the token model: supply, allocation and how the token moves between retailers, shoppers and the marketplace.
- Supply and allocation
- Token utility for merchants and consumers
02Write the whitepaper
The whitepaper explained the retail problem, the token mechanism and the economics in one document buyers could check.
- Retail problem and market
- Mechanism and economics
03Run a four-week campaign at a planned weekly budget
Marketing ran at about $100K a week for four weeks, planned week by week against the sale timeline.
- Weekly budget and message plan
- Momentum built toward the close of the sale
