About Ventive
Ventive is a product engineering company founded in 2014 and based in the Boise area of Idaho. It helps businesses build, modernize and connect the software they run on: custom software development, legacy modernization, team augmentation, AI and automation, system integrations, and turning prototypes into production-ready applications.
Ventive is a five-time Inc. 5000 honoree and says it has worked on more than 250 products. Like many US integrators, it delivers across many platforms and industries without one declared specialization, and that is where this engagement started.
The problem
Able to build anything, found for nothing in particular
Ventive had strong delivery across mobile, web, AI and integration work but no single specialization. A firm that can do everything gives search engines, referrers and buyers no obvious reason to choose it for a specific project.
Page one, but not the top three
Ventive already ranked on page one for several high-intent keywords, but not consistently in the top three positions, so click-through rates and organic growth stayed low. The service pages closest to revenue were thinly optimized, and most older blogs drew no traffic at all.
Local ad competition and AI Overviews
Competitors ran aggressive search ads on Boise terms, and AI Overviews answered questions before buyers clicked through. Almost half of traffic was branded, from people who already knew Ventive, and a Boise label on industry pages limited how far they could reach.
What we did
01Restructure the website around what buyers need to see
We reworked the home page so a first-time visitor sees services, industries, proof and a clear next step, instead of a generic agency page.
- Home page wireframe organized by services, industries, technologies and case studies
- A discovery call and a proposal request as the primary calls to action
02Give each industry its own door
Rather than one generalist story, we wrote industry landing pages that open with the buyer's operating problems. The healthcare page leads with scattered patient records and threats to patient data. The real estate page leads with disconnected property data, transaction fraud and scaling bottlenecks.
- Healthcare software development and real estate technology pages
- Challenges, solutions and impact sections written for each buyer
- Boise taken out of industry page titles so those pages compete nationally
03Fix the pages that make money first
We audited rankings and concentrated on the service pages closest to revenue: wider keyword coverage, cleaner technical structure and stronger links from blog content.
- Keyword expansion for app development, including Android, iOS and mobile app developers in Boise
- Broken pages, duplicate H1 tags and internal links between blogs and core pages fixed
- Weekly Google Business Profile posts and a regular flow of new reviews
04Write for AI answers and off-site discovery
With AI Overviews taking clicks, we wrote question-and-answer content that AI systems can extract and cite, refreshed old blogs, and placed short summaries on Medium, Reddit and Quora that link back to Ventive's original pages.
- Question-led blog content built for extraction
- Old blog articles reviewed, refreshed and optimized
- Off-site answers that point to Ventive pages
05Use webinars to reach buyers directly
We built a webinar plan on generative AI and custom software for healthcare, real estate and fintech, promoted through LinkedIn Events, email invitations and the team's personal networks, starting with Boise contacts and then the wider US.
- Pre-recorded sessions streamed on LinkedIn, with the recording reused for new audiences
- Topics such as generative AI in healthcare and secure, scalable fintech software
